Come on you Rangers! Michael Douglas and his daughter Carys laugh in delight as they watch the home side take the lead

She's often been seen walking hand-in-hand with her famous father as he takes her to school in New York.

But there was a special treat in store for Carys Douglas yesterday when her doting dad Michael treated her to a day at the ice hockey.

The pair were snapped in the stands at Madison Square Garden to watch the Pittsburgh Penguins take on the home side New York Rangers.

Score! Carys whoops in delight as Michael smiles broadly as they join other fans in celebrating a goal

And they looked like they were having a great time together as they watched Rangers beat the Penguins 5-3.

They were snapped laughing loudly together as Carys snuggled close into her actor father for cuddles.

Clearly a fan of the sport, she looked delighted to be there at the match and even more delighted to be with Michael.

I think they might score, daddy: Carys gets up out of her seat as the action intensifies...

... and the Rangers score yet another goal

And she would also be very happy to see her father fighting fit again after his recent battle with cancer.

After gruelling course of chemotherapy and radio therapy for stage four cancer, Michael, 66, announced last month that he had been given the all clear.

And one person who helped him get through his treatment was seven-year-old Carys, his only daughter.

Last November, Star magazine reported that Carys and her brother Dylan, 10, were so worried about their father after seeing him lose a lot of weight throughout his treatment.

So she became his personal chef and fed her father with healthy and nutritious smoothies to help him put some weight back on.

This was Michael's second public outing to a sporting event in a week, after he attended the Super Bowlwith actress wife Catherine Zeta Jones, 41, in Texas, where they watched the game from seats in a VIP box.
